well, we made it. we’re all alive and somehow managed to survive the trip without any major disaster. it was a sad morning here at the maleku hostel in san jose. Lo lo left solo, and three emo teens were left watching and waving by the gate. this is not the end, but only the begining. we have all learned so much, but it is due time to go back to the realities and hardships of real life.

although none of us got vacationbraids along the way, our trip was nothing short of a miraculous journey that should have been filmed for mtv. stay tuned for more photos and postings regarding reunion tours, street fights, and pool heists.

Think hard for one second… of the last thing you would ever want to do hungover. It´s 9 a.m., it´s 35 degrees celcius, your mouth tastes like tequila, and you have to peel last night´s denim cut offs from your polluted body. Then, you remember you signed up for a full day boat ride surf excursion that leaves in half an hour. Pile on the boat for a never ending wild and wavy ride to different surf beaches. Let´s make it known that this was no yacht. It was a fishing boat older than all of us combined. With a bunch of different accents, and the smells of foreigner puke surrounding us, it was nothing short of a miracle that we got through the day (sea sick free).

The dorm room experience is finally coming to a much needed end. We have been stationed in San Juan del Sur for about a week now, hanging our hats at the largest hostel in the town. We have met a lot of interesting people. You know you´re living in hostel life when…

- You use shotgunning as an ice breaker.

- Sublime is playing, again, and you know the words.

- You end up at the locals-only disco.

- You catch yourself saying ¨dude¨, ¨man¨ and ¨sweet¨ way, WAY too much.

- You´re comfortable sleeping beside a 45 year old mid life crisis American… in a bunk bed.

what happens when 4 kids from canada get a ballin 5 star hotel suite in el savlador´s capital for a birthday party¿¿¿ shit gets real…real sloppy. blackout status was achieved. The night included 6pm shotgun, cathy´s blender surprises, a mini sink puke before 7pm, more than a couple tequilla shots at the downstairs bar, kit swap, food fight, heavy duty wresting match, crossing a 4 lane highway to mcdonalds (with only a reciept as evidence to remind us the next morning). All in all, a good time was had. we are currently trying to rehydrate.

the next day we got on a 12 hour bus ride to managua, nicaragua, arriving just before sunset. with no proper shelter in sight, we get hustled to a ¨secure¨ hostel…or was it a penitentiary?¿?¿? lets call it hotel razor wire…either way, shit was on heavy lockdown. after an attempt to find bananas at 9am, we were informed upon exit that it was muy peligroso (translation-very dangerous). so we scrapped that, and got the hell outta dodge..considering that we forget to bring our bullet proof vests. currently, we are chillin in granada and aside from being kicked in the shin by street kids, we´re doing just fine.
